Spring is just around the corner, and there’s no need to wait to get your seasonal crops going.
Here are 10 spring vegetables you can start sprouting or growing in August:
Aubergine (eggplant)
Celery
Cucumber
Green Beans (climbing)
Lettuce
Parsnip
Peppers
Potatoes
Spinach
Tomatoes
TIP: This month and well into September the night time temperatures may still be a little cool, and there may be some frost. We suggest planting your seedlings in such a way that you can bring them indoors at night. Not only does this protect them from frost, but it will increase their growth rate until temperatures increase outdoors.
Next week we will give you some useful tips and tricks for sprouting your own seeds at home.
